Mathew James Talaugon | Founder & Artistic Director

Mathew James Talaugon is a queer and Native artist whose work explores contemporary culture through movement, storytelling, and bold physicality. He has performed with renowned artists such as Bill T. Jones, Sonya Tayeh, and Shannon Gillen (VIM VIGOR) and was part of the creative team behind the off-Broadway production The Lucky Ones.

As the Founder & Artistic Director of URBAN/TRIBE, Mathew has presented groundbreaking works at Bryant Park, the Jewish Community Center: Manhattan, and Center for Performance Research (CPR), including a sold-out trilogy of evening-length works. A dedicated educator, he has been on faculty at Peridance Center for over a decade, mentoring the next generation of contemporary dancers.

Beyond the stage, Mathew is a respected nonprofit leader, currently serving as Senior Managing Director at Room to Grow Inc. His leadership roles at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Free Arts NYC reflect his commitment to diversity, equity, and cultural impact.

Erke Roosen | Company Manager & Rehearsal Director

Erke Roosen Castelluzzo was born in the Netherlands and trained at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, earning her BFA in Dance under the direction of Wim Broeckx. She continued her studies at the Peridance Capezio Center in New York, completing the Certificate Program with honors.

Erke has performed with numerous dance companies in both the Netherlands and the U.S., including Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. She has worked with acclaimed choreographers such as Lightfoot León, Alexander Ekman, Ohad Naharin, Sidra Bell, and Igal Perry.

Beyond concert dance, Erke has collaborated on a range of projects, including performances with Herman van Veen, New York Fashion Week (Rochambeau), MTV’s Say It in Song, and Good Morning America. She is currently a performer with Depth Dance, URBAN/TRIBE, and Keiko Fujii Dance Company in New York.

Alongside performing, Erke is a teaching artist with Notes in Motion, bringing dance education to NYC public schools. She also works as an admissions administrator for the dating platform Inner Circle.

Ryan Fish | Company & Content Manager

Ryan Fish is a New York-based interdisciplinary performing artist originally from Santa Cruz, California. His early exposure to theatre and music, combined with a background in competitive athletics, shaped his dynamic approach to movement and performance.

Ryan earned his B.S. in Dance Studies from the University of Oregon, where he performed with GarnerDANCES under the direction of Brad Garner and collaborated on independent works by Steven Chatfield. He also showcased his versatility as a singer and choreographer for the university’s premier all-male a cappella group, On The Rocks.

Now based in New York City, Ryan works as a freelance dancer and personal trainer, bringing physicality and artistry to his craft. He has performed in works by Mathew James of URBAN/TRIBE, Maxine Doyle of Sleep No More, Liz Gerring, and Vive Khamsingsavath. In addition to performing, Ryan is proud to serve as the Company and Content Manager for URBAN/TRIBE, where he helps shape the company’s artistic vision and digital presence.
